Objective

Currently completing a part time PhD in the change problems associated with Enterprise Systems (ERP) implementations. Published academic paper in the British Academy of Management Journal (202) and paper presented online at Global conference (Sept 21).

Work History

Three years 12+ teaching experience including one year as a live-in housemaster. Then: Ten years as a Royal Navy Officer (Lt Cdr), passed Lieutenants Staff Course, exchanged with British Army for three years, Loaned to Australian Navy (6 months), operational combat experience, MoD staff Officer (strategic business systems programme), programme manager experience on £200m programme, wrote business case submissions to Treasury and Chancellor of the Exchequer Offices. Ten years corporate experience – process engineer, internal IT consulting, Head of Procurement Systems (managing a portion of the Oracle ERP – payables, paying out $4bn per annum). Implemented e-procurement, analytics; managed financial integration on merger/demerger). Extensive experience with banking products like credit cards, mortgage processing and deposits. Lean Six Sigma Black belt in Australian banks (NAB), Sydney Rail and NRMA Insurance. Experience in the UK with Bristol Myers Squibb, Shell and MBNA America. CEO/MD of my own software distribution company (Australia based) in conjunction with a US development shop. From marketing, sales, contract, data extraction, build, training and solution implementation. Strong data skills. Had 17 of Australia’s largest companies as clients – AGL, Westpac, whole of New South Wales Government (22 department feeds covering 18m transactions and $22bn in spend). Now part owner of new analytics firm in Boston. Now - completing PhD and 1:1 coaching of graduates as required.

B.Sc (Hons) 2:1 Geography and Geology (course prize winner) M.Sc. IT – Distinction MBA – Distinction PhD – write up stage. Targeted for Viva Sept 2022. Lean Six Sigma Black belt (BMGI) Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner AXIS AGILE Certified Scrum-Master. Extensive training in products like ADOBE Captivate 19, Premiere Pro (video editing).

Key Skills

Extensive skills in online digital authoring (Captivate 19, Articulate 360, Videoscribe and Camtasia). From training design, script, production through to LMS management (Learning Management System). Produced a complete procurement online analytics package to support my part ownership of a US based analytics company. Programme was certified for CPD award by ITOL (Institute of Organisational Learning). Strong skills with Zoom, Teams. Extensive and advanced Office products including MS Access. During lockdown created a bootcamp mentoring programme (1:1 digital coaching) for local graduates – project management, basics of Lean Six Sigma, digital analytics, presentation skills. One candidate found a tier 1 role in 4 weeks. Black belt in Karate (2nd Dan), fit, strong and long distance cycling (> 35 miles).
